The Twilight Bark... Updated

My managing editor and I both work from home, he from Colorado and me Tennessee. This morning as we were going over our project status and doing our weekly (sometimes daily) planning session, his pug heard my boykin bark and they started talking to each other. I'm not sure what they were saying, but both dogs were quite puzzled about that invisible barking dog in the black box. At first, I thought Priscilla was just barking at something in our neighborhood, but she stopped as soon as Clancy stopped. I guess they were passing messages of some sort. Maybe the weather? Coded messages re: the planned takeover of Cat-dom? Tips on how to win a treat from their human?
