I honestly am having trouble believing it is already Thursday. This week has been just a long tangle of goods and bads. On the good side... the phenergan generally helps the nausea so I'm not throwing up every single day anymore, our friends the Queen and her Hub-Unit are in the process of buying their first house, as of yesterday I am no longer carrying an embryo but a bonafide FETUS (almighty feet! sorry. inside joke), and this afternoon I was able to not only cook some beans and toasted french bread for lunch, I ALSO DID THE DISHES! On the bad side? The library won't let me check out books until a pay a fine for the corners of a book that one of our animals chewed, even with a full dose of phenergan I spent a nasty 15 minutes in the bathroom throwing up last night, our home equity application was denied and no one can tell me WHY, and Rosie needs new tires. >sigh<
I'm sitting in a borrowed red chair with a puppy on the back listening to the storm outside. Somehow it seems to make the bad wash away and the good seem more tangible when you smell fresh earth, hear rumbling thunder, and watch the cutest dog ever press her nose to the screen so she can experience the storm without getting wet. Sitting here I realize...even though we're broke and I'm tired and sometimes it seems overwhelming, I have nothing to complain about. My life is just as it should be... not too easy, not too hard, and full of surprises every day.

Our Baby
We had out first prenatal appointment today, as you all know. Everything looks great, and our due date is February 28, 2008... officially. We heard the baby's heartbeat (167 bpm), saw the heartbeat, and as you can see above, we got to see our BABY. Not just a lima bean or peanut, but the actual little bitty baby shape. :-) Doc gave me a scrip for some anti nausea meds so hopefully I'll be feeling better soon.
What do you think of our bean?!

Just Typical
I have my first ever prenatal appointment tomorrow. It was scheduled for 9:15 am, a good time for us as it meant I wouldn't have to take as much of the day off work and Hubband could pick up an evening shift if he wanted to. We made this appointment a MONTH ago. This afternoon, a mere 15 hours or so from appointment time, I got a phone call from the doctor's office saying "oops, we made a mistake, she won't be here in the morning! We're going to move your appointment, mmm'k?".
GROWL.
I know that it is still tomorrow, they only moved it to 1145, but because of paperwork to be filled out and such, I'll basically end up taking the entire day as a personal day and spend the bulk of it sitting in a waiting room. I make doctor appointments early because then you're the FIRST IN LINE. You don't have to deal with "the doc is running a bit behind today, please wait another 2 hours". >sigh<
Ok, moaning done. At least this time tomorrow I'll have 2 things I don't have today:
1) a prescription for a safe anti-nausea medicine that I can take on those days where I've spent more time in the bathroom than anywhere else (most days)
2) the answer to the age old question of "one, or two?"

Coming to you slightly green
I've had many concerned phone calls and emails asking why I haven't updated the blog in over a week... there are many reasons, but the main one is that I haven't felt good. At all. In fact, although I've not yet actually thrown up, I have felt extremely ill for the last 10 days. Im dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous, extremely tired... you name it and I've got it. Thankfully, I've had the vacation time and holiday time and just plain weekend time to spend a few extra hours in bed every day. As of today, that ends. Here it is 8 pm and Im really quite ready for bed. Just waiting for the Hubband to call in and let me know I can come get him from his state beverages licensing class. >yawn< You wanna take care of that for me? Yeah? Thanks. Im off to bed then.
